Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service is conveniently located at the Linwood Cemetery on the southwest side of Cedar Rapids. When the Murdoch family acquired the Linwood Cemetery they saw a need for a funeral home to be located at the cemetery. A building similar to Murdoch Funeral Home in Marion was built at Linwood in 1985. Today the funeral home serves families choosing burial or entombment at Linwood Cemetery as well as all cemeteries in our area and beyond. Count on Murdoch-Linwood to handle your funeral, cremation and burial arrangements.

Murdoch-Linwood is easy to find. We are conveniently located just off of Interstate 380 on Wilson Avenue SW (Exit 18) adjacent to Sixth Street SW.

The lobby and lounge areas of Murdoch-Linwood are comforting and inviting.

Our chapels may be arranged many different ways to accomodate different size gatherings, visitations, services or receptions. Our formal chapel seats 175 people and our adjacent areas can accomodate in excess of 200 guests. Our facility can be arranged for a large service or an intimate gathering. The chapels have complete audio/visual capablities as well as a traditional pipe organ for service music.

Murdoch Funeral Homes & Cremation Service are proud to provide Memorial Video Tributes as part of our service to families. These video tributes capture the many wonderful memories of a life lived and will be treasured for years. These presentations are shown on large televisions near the visitation area and may also be used during services in our chapel on our large drop down screen or at your church if they have the required equipment.
