After graduation, she held positions in a bank, real estate office and the business office of the Steam Fitters Union where Paddy Lavins was its business manager and Edie always remembered his kindness and joyful personality. Edie was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church-where she led the Senior Group for many years and established and supported two Church Youth Endowment Funds: Summer Camp and College. She was also a member of the University of Iowa Presidents Club, Hancher Guild, University Club, Music Club, and the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. She was a dedicated volunteer at the University Of Iowa Hospital & Clinics where 8,171 hours of her compassionate time was recorded. She was a proud resident of Grand Living at Bridgewater and enjoyed attending ALL of the activities that they had to offer – even if she was the only one there. Survivors include her husband, Ken Yerington of Coralville; daughter, Kathy Yerington of Colorado; sisters, Penny Beres and Georgia Bihler of Philadelphia; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and grand-dog, Kobey.
