Rosetta Tyson, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at her home. Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with visitation to begin one hour prior. Burial: Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Rosetta was born August 3, 1940, in Forrest City, Arkansas, the daughter of Albert and Pearlie Mae (Sims) Trice. She married Ernest C. Tyson, Jr. on August 15, 1998. She was a CNA for Samaritan Hospital and Jane Lamb Hospital (now knowns as, Mercy One) in Clinton, Iowa before starting Angels in Flight Home Healthcare. Rosetta was a faithful member of Christ Holiness Apostolic Temple, Cedar Rapids. She was a prayer warrior and her love and passion for the Lord was witnessed by all who met her. Rosetta will be missed by her family and friends, but just knowing that she closed her eyes on earth and awakened in glory will bless us until we meet her again. Survivors include her husband, Ernest C. Tyson, Jr. of Cedar Rapids; children, James (Jennifer) Broughton of Clinton, Sarah (Otis) Broughton Buford of Lakeland, Florida, and Tyisha (Johnathan) Armour-Curtis of Cedar Rapids; many grand, great, and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Joann (Floyd) Schutte of Camanche, Iowa; a niece; and a nephew. Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Trice and Pearlie Clanton; children, Calvin Weaver, Barbara Broughton, Lisa Broughton-Miller; granddaughter, Shaniqua Broughton; and sisters, Willie Mae Weaver, and Jackie Palmer.
