Alan Lee Beckner

Alan Lee Beckner, 64, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2026, at Linn Manor Care Center. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Private family inurnment will be held at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in rural Marion.

Alan was born on October 11, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of DeWayne Lee and Mary Ann (Palmer) Beckner. He was a 1981 graduate of Linn-Mar High School, where he was an active member of the FFA and then went on to study Agriculture at Kirkwood Community College. Alan loved farming alongside his dad on the family farm and raising hogs. He was especially fond of his farm dogs and cats. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Alan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Alan is survived and lovingly remembered by his father, DeWayne Beckner of Marion; sister, Julie (Mark) Miller of Cedar Rapids; brothers, David (Debbie) Beckner of Cedar Rapids, and Kevin (Allison) Beckner of Marion; nieces and nephews, Adam (Meghan) Miller, Ryan Miller, Jordan Miller, Blane Beckner, and Chloe (Javier) Orive; and great-niece and nephews, Ellie, Landon, and Cale Miller.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann, in 2017.

Memorials in Alan’s memory may be directed to the family for distribution to several charities.
