Alan Dale Pearson

Alan Dale Pearson, 52, of 5480 Wyoming Dr. SW, Cedar Rapids, died, Thursday, April 20, 2006, in his home, following a long illness. Family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Private Graveside Service: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; his daughters, Shawnell Meyers and Alana (Nickelas) Kirkpatrick, all of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Brenda
Pearson of Cedar Rapids and fiancé, Wayne Smyth of Marion; three grandchildren, Zachary Meyers, Brittany Meyers and Chloe Kirkpatrick; his father-in-law, James Klein, three brothers-in-law, Kevin (Cindy) Klein, Kent (Maggie) Klein and Keith (Kim) Klein; and his good friends, Bob Short of Illinois and Frank and Denise Glubka of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Pearson; his mother, Bonnie Pearson; and his mother-in-law, Charlene Klein.
Alan was born August 3, 1953, the son of Dale and Bonnie (Gurley) Pearson, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A 1971 Jefferson High School graduate, he served with the United States Army. On March 24, 1978, Alan was united in marriage to Kathy Klein in Cedar Rapids. For 33 years, he worked for Iowa Percision Industries. Alan was a member of the AmVets Post # 6 in Cedar Rapids.
Military honors by AmVets Post #6 and American Legion Hanford Post #5.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Alan.
