Alan Hilton Smith, 57, of Iowa City, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at his home. A private graveside service will be held at a later date, at Coffins Grove - Baker Cemetery in Manchester, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Alan was born on December 3, 1964, in Van Nuys, California, the son of Pete and Judy Smith. He graduated from West Delaware High School and went on to graduate from The University of Iowa. He enjoyed tinkering with electronics and computers, and even built his own electric bicycle. Alan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Alan is survived and lovingly remembered by his parents, Pete and Judy of Olathe, Kansas; brother, David (Jennie) Smith of Overland Park, Kansas; and sister Anne Smith of Reus, Spain, as well as many nephews and nieces.
