Alex Dewain Sherrill

Alex Dewain Sherrill, 59, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026. He is remembered with love and fondness by his family and all who knew him.

Alex is survived by his mother, Nancy, and his younger brother, Michael, along with his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry, and grandparents who will now take him under their wings.

Alex was an avid NASCAR fan, and he enjoyed racing modified stock cars in the Cedar Rapids area for several years. He was always jovial, free-spirited and kind to everyone with whom he crossed paths.

Alex was a loving and supportive son and a loyal best friend to his brother. Alex would want everyone close to him to celebrate his life and not mourn his passing.
