Allen F. Andrews

Allen F. "Red? Andrews, 91, of Ankeny, formerly of Marion, died Thursday, October 20, 2005, at Sunnyview Care Center following a short illness. Services: 2:00 p.m. Monday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Gary Sneller. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Jean Sparks (David) of Ankeny; two grandchildren, Douglas (Mary) Sparks and Jennifer (Grant) Jimmerson; and four great-grandchildren, Megan and Amanda Sparks and Cody and Kaitlyn Jimmerson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Ruby on June 9, 2005.
Red was born August 29, 1914, the son of Otto Glen and Maggie Mae (Ferguson) Andrews in Center Point. On March 23, 1940, he married Ruby Laverna Hepker in Vinton. She died June 9, 2005. Red worked at FMC Link-Belt as a machinist for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of Ankeny Christian Church.
