Alvin Walter Moeller, 94, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Hallmar Village in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 1790 14th Street, Marion, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with full military honors.

Alvin was born on May 24, 1932, in Cedar County, Iowa, the son of Walter and Clara (Stolte) Moeller. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps in Korea. Alvin met Marilyn at Danceland in Cedar Rapids, and on June 11, 1956, the couple was united in marriage at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.

Alvin grew up on the family farm, where he worked until the age of 18. He worked for Colonial Bakery for 30 years and missed only three days of work throughout his career, a testament to his work ethic and dependability. Following his retirement, he drove a school bus for Linn-Mar Community School District for 20 years.

A member of the Marion American Legion and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, Alvin lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. He enjoyed music, dancing with his beloved wife, Marilyn, gardening, and took pride in caring for his yard. Tireless by nature, he continued working until he was 80 years old. Above all, Alvin was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Alvin is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 70 years, Marilyn; three children, Mark (Laurie) Moeller, Matt (Esther) Moeller, and Mary (Steve) Trumpold; grandchildren, Andrea Meyer, Brandon (Katie) Moeller, Jessica (Eric) Cizmadia, Allie Moeller, Jon (Brittney) Trumpold, Jenny (Matt) Wooldrik, Jenna Moeller, Emily Moeller, and Ayesha Sordilla; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Wally (Pat) Moeller; and sister, Neva Phelps.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ray Moeller; sisters, Bernice Schlueter, Helen Sissel, Evelyn Sterner, and Luella Phillips; and many cherished in-laws.
