Andre A. Kapayou, 53, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026. No services will be held. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
Andre was born on November 29, 1972, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Thomas Wright and Wanda Kapayou. He enjoyed music, gaming, fishing and NASCAR. Above everything else, he loved spending time with his family and cooking at family gatherings. Andre will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Kinda Kapayou; children, Kendrick Lee, Whittley Whitaker, Sasha (Tyshun) Sanders, and Andre Kapayou; thirteen grandchildren; sister, Shalon Kapayou; and his dog, Mia.
Andre was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Alexis Jean Lee.
