Andrea Dee Jacobsen, 51, of Quasqueton, Iowa, formerly of Walker, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She lived a life of kindness and generosity, and her final act of giving was the donation of her eyes, offering hope and sight to others. Cremation has taken place. The family will greet friends and family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City, Iowa. A Private Family Inurnment will take place at a later date at Spring Grove Cemetery in rural Coggon, Iowa.
Andrea was born on October 9, 1974, in Independence, Iowa, one of two daughters to Harry and Karen (McCalley) Evers. She was a 1993 graduate of North Linn High School and went on to attend the University of Northern Iowa, where she met the love of her life, Jason Robert Jacobsen. On September 19, 1998, Andrea and Jason were married in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Together they raised two children, Spencer Oran and Rylie Ann. Andrea worked as a Project Manager for several companies throughout her life.
Andrea was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was an exceptional baker and learned how to make many “family favorites” gluten-free. Andrea had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her dogs. She enjoyed family vacations and loved the holidays. Most of all, Andrea cherished time spent with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Andrea is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 27 years, Jason Jacobsen of Quasqueton; son, Spencer Jacobsen of Woodward, Iowa; daughter, Rylie Jacobsen of Quasqueton; parents, Harry and Karen Evers of Coggon; sister, Angie (Don) Donley of Walker; mother-in-law, Elaine Jacobsen of Estherville, Iowa; sister-in-law, Shelaine Jacobsen of Twin Cities, Minnesota; and a host of extended family including special aunts and uncles, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William “Bill” and Helen McCalley, and paternal grandparents, Bernard and Maxine Evers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Andrea’s memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity of donor’s choice.
