Anita Marie Sealine Johnson was born on April 5, 1948, in Ames, Iowa, to Arlene Enderson Sealine and the late Melferd Sealine. Anita was baptized and later confirmed her faith at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanhope, Iowa. On September 6, 1968, she and Douglas Johnson were married at her home church. They were blessed with two children, Carrie (Johnson) Hanson, Denver CO, and Eric Johnson, Coralville. They were gifted with two additional children through marriage, Micha Hanson and Anne (Kollmorgen) Johnson. And with their children, they welcomed five grandchildren, Carter and Ella Johnson, Coralville, and Lukas, Olivia and Jon Hanson, Denver CO.

After completing training in Radiologic Technology at Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, Anita worked as an X-ray technician, an inventory accounting clerk, a pharmacy technician and parish assistant at two area churches. She was also, and always, a loving caretaker of home and family. She liked to volunteer at Church helping with Holy Communion and making cakes for funeral lunches. She enjoyed her family and friends, traveling with Doug, supporting her grandchildren’s activities, genealogy research, floral gardening and landscaping, trying new recipes and reading good works of fiction.

Succeeding her are her mother, Arlene Sealine, her husband, children and grandchildren. In addition, her brother, Ron (Shirley) Sealine, Johnston, a sister, Diane (John) Ford, St. Joseph MO, a sister, Joyce Sealine, Plymouth MN, and brother Paul (Mary) Sealine, Stratford. Brothers and sisters-in-law include Steve and Chris Johnson, Sioux Falls SD, Rich and Kandi Johnson, Lake City FL, Dan and Diane Johnson, Stratford. Anita always liked to be in the company of her aunts and uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Preceding her in death were her father, Melferd Sealine, and her parents-in-law, Delmar and Gladine Johnson.

Anita went home to be with the LORD on May 25, 2019. Her faith in Christ as her Savior sustained her in life and at her dying. Anita would want any memorial gifts to be directed to the First Lutheran Solace Servers or to Kids First Law Firm, Cedar Rapids.

A Celebration of Life was held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids, on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 1:30 PM followed by a time of fellowship with her family and friends in the church’s reception hall.
