Ardis Diane Schilling

Ardis “Ardie” Diane Schilling, 81, of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, June 25. 2026, at the Hiawatha Care Center. Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A private family funeral service will be held at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Murdoch-Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Ardis was born on March 4, 1945, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Lucile (Shover) Hallett. She graduated from Dow City High School in 1962 and then from Paris Beauty School. She married Phillip A. Schilling on Sept 28, 1968. They had 3 children: Suzanne (deceased), Julie, and David. They later divorced.

Ardie loved watching the LA Lakers basketball and Wheel of Fortune, going to the movies (Rocky was her favorite), out to dinner, and spending time with her family. In her younger years, she had a green thumb and loved flowers and gardening. She appreciated the little things in life and always had a smile on her face.

Ardis is survived by her children, Julie (Jason) Junge and David Schilling; grandchildren, Jax, Jayden, and Jordan Junge; sisters-in-law, Luanne Hallett and Shirley Hallett; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Suzanne Schilling; sister, Sheryl Puffett; and brothers, Al, Dick, and Burdett Hallett.
