Arlene Broxey

Arlene Broxey, 93, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 17, 2026. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.

Arlene was born December 17, 1932, in Shellsburg, Iowa, the daughter of William and Fannie Barton. She married Clifford Broxey on December 12, 1947, in Center Point, Iowa. Arlene worked as a lunch lady at Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School. She was a member of Trinity-St. James United Methodist Church and volunteered there for many years. Arlene enjoyed traveling and attending baseball games, especially watching the Chicago Cubs. She found great joy in giving gifts to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Nancy Lanning, Clifford Broxey Jr., and Dennis Broxey; her grandchildren, Carolyn Kelley, Adam (Marissa) Broxey, and James Broxey; and her great-grandchildren, Isaiah Kelley, David Kelley, Rose Broxey, Adam Broxey Jr., and Carter Broxey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford Broxey Sr.; and her granddaughter, Katie Lanning.
