Arne J. Vine, 67, of Center Point, died Thursday, May 11, 2006, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at the Decorah Lutheran Church in Decorah, Iowa, by the Rev. Bryan Robertson. Burial: Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. Friends may call from 4 - 7 p.m. Tuesday (May 16) at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Survivors include his children, Carlton (Joi) Vine of Johnstown, Ohio, Martin (Kim) Vine of Walker, Iowa, Jeffrey (Patty) Vine of Modesto, California, and Crystal (Mike) Alden of Center Point; eleven grandchildren, Andrew, Christopher, Sondra, Spencer, Maria, Robert, Tim, Sarah, Jennifer, Jessica, and Katelynne; two brothers, Van (Mary Elizabeth) Vine of Illinois and Jon (Shirley) Vine of Decorah; and a brother-in-law, Paul Treptow of Plainfield, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marjorie Treptow; and his stepmother, Georgina Vine.
Arne was born the son of Arthur J. and Millicient Anderson Vine on November 19, 1938, in Decorah. He served in the Navy from 1956 - 1959. On January 23, 1960, he married Dorothy Alberts and they later divorced. Arne was employed at Rockwell-Collins for thirty-five years. He was a member of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, S.J., USA, Valley of Cedar Rapids Orient of Iowa, 32nd Degree; Naval Airship Association; and the NRA.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Arne.
