Arnold "Arnie" Fischer, 87, formerly of Earlville, died, Friday, August 17, 2012 at his home in Freeport, Ill. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Monday, August 20 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earlville, conducted by Rev. Dennis Quint. Visitation will also be Monday, August 20 at Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service from 9:00 am to 10:30 am prior to funeral mass. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Earlville.
Arnie was born December 6, 1924 in New Vienna the son of Leonard and Anna (Scherbring) Fischer. He married Anita Mae Kaiser on November 19, 1946 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earlville. Arnie was a reliable painter, worked at Henderson's Manufacturing for many years, he also worked at FS in Earlville prior to retirement. He enjoyed looking at cars, stock car racing, animals, traveling, music, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Mae; children, Judy (Tom) Kramer, Freeport, Il, and Barb (DuWayne) Grutt, Marquette, MI; four grandchildren, Lisa (Jay) Shaw, Todd (Amy) Kramer, Michael (Krista) Grutt, and Kimberly Grutt; six great-grandchildren, Jesse, Haley, Kolton, Kelsey, Aubrey, and Ryan; a brother, Francis (Sharon) Fischer of Earlville; in-laws, Marie Neuhaus, John (Lois) Kaiser, Patty Harrington, Bonnie Jean Anderson, Mary Lou Kaiser, and Adorine Kaiser; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arnie was preceded in death by his parents.
