Barbara Weber, 91, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Bloomingdale, Illinois, died Thursday, June 25, 2026. Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on August 15, 2026, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood in Cedar Rapids.
Barbara was born on June 15, 1935, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Leonard and Esther (Schwiebert) Goetz. She graduated from high school and went on to attend Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. Barbara married Warren E. Weber, Jr., on June 24, 1961, in LaGrange, Illinois. Warren preceded her in death on January 25, 1999. Barbara was a member of Lovely Lane United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, Roselle United Methodist Church in Roselle, Illinois, and LADOS (Life After Death of a Spouse) in Cedar Rapids, where she met her second husband, Buzz Brown. They were married in January 2009. Barbara devoted her life to raising her children and caring for her family. She enjoyed gardening, participating in Bible studies, and traveling. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include her children, Nancy (John) Hite and Michael Weber, both of Illinois; her granddaughter, Natalie Hite of Illinois; her sister, JoAnn Wasta of Iowa; and her nieces and nephews, Kathy (Richard) Green, John (Carmen) Wasta, Amy (Blaise) Lofland, and Phill (Caren) Wasta.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Esther Goetz; her first husband, Warren E. Weber, Jr.; her second husband, Buzz Brown; and her brothers-in-law, Jim Wasta and David Weber.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Meth-Wick in honor of Barbara's memory.
