Bernice M. Ketrow, 82, of 191 20th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and longtime resident of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully at Mercy Medical Center, Wednesday, May 17, 2006, due to complications of a stroke she suffered on April 9, 2006. Graveside Services: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2006, at Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday (May 19, 2006) at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her three grandchildren, Lori Mosbah of Cedar Rapids, Shawn (Amy) Brecht of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Bill (Kelly) Zbanek, Jr. of Cedar Rapids; seven great-grandchildren, Ramy, Jesse, David, Kayla, Dakota, Amanda and Henry; a niece, Judy (Jim) Wagner of Swisher; a special cousin, Gladys Peterson of Cedar Rapids; and a special friend of 38 years, Clarence Schaefer of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Linda Ketrow; and her brother, Elmer Kloubec.
Born May 17, 1924, in Swisher, Iowa, to Louis and Mary (Novak) Kloubec, she worked at Turner Microphone and retired from General Mills in 1993. Bernice will be remembered for her great sense of humor. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.
