Bertha E. Pearson, 94, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 19, 2015 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. The family will greet friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.

Survivors include her daughters, Anita Watson of Cedar Rapids, and Ethel Mary (Kenneth) Bauer of Mendota, IL; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; ten great-great- grandchildren; siblings, Mary Schupanitz and Joyce Reihmann.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; siblings, LaVern Klaner, James Klaner, Louise Stambaugh and Leonard Klaner in infancy; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; and one great-great grandson.

Bertha was born April 15, 1921, in Laurel, Nebraska, the daughter of George Klaner and Hazel Brink. She married Wayne Pearson on June 30, 1939. In addition to being a homemaker, Bertha worked at Rockwell Collins for 27 years. She was member of Rebekah Lodge, Marion Business Women, First United Methodist Church and church circles. Bertha was a very active volunteer. She enjoyed knitting and was known as the “Mitten Lady.”
