Betty L. Parsons, 68, of Shueyville, Iowa, died Saturday, August 1, 2009, in Manor Care Health Services, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at the Shueyville United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Sheryll Untiedt. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church prior to the service. Burial: Linwood Park Cemetery, Boone, Iowa. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her son, Brad Parsons of Swisher; brother, Donald Ray of Melrose; sisters, Mabel (John) Toepfer of Madrid and Gladys Groomes of Oakdale, California.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; brother, Floyd Ray; and sister, Dorothy Ricke.
Born on January 25, 1941, in Hamilton County, Betty was the daughter of Lloyd and Mildred (Craven) Ray. On March 11, 1961, she was united in marriage to William Parsons in Boone, Iowa. He died January 14, 2001.
Betty attended the Shueyville United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading.
