Beulah Mae (Nebendahl) Brandt, 71, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Ryan, Iowa, died Wednesday morning, April 26, 2006 at Scott & White Hospital, Temple, Texas following complications of cancer.
Graveside services will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2006 in Coggon Cemetery, Coggon. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester is in charge of local arrangements.
Beulah was born June 7, 1934 at the Nebendahl farm in rural Elberon, Iowa, the youngest of five daughters born to Emil and Alberta (Letch) Nebendahl. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1951. On July 7, 1952, Bea was united in marriage to Edward H. Brandt in Belle Plaine. Upon Ed?s discharge from the U.S. Navy, the couple returned to the Marion and Coggon areas. They were involved in farming, trucking and raising four children. In 1977, the couple purchased and operated Ed & Bea?s Tavern in Coggon, until selling it in 1988. Bea then joined Ed in the truck until their retirement in 1996. The couple moved to Ryan. Ed died November 13, 1999. Bea was fortunate to find love and companionship with Claude Ramsey. Together they moved to Georgetown, Texas in 2000.
Bea loved crocheting, bingo and three-card poker tournaments.
Bea is survived by her companion of six years, Claude Ramsey of Georgetown, TX; a daughter, Barbara L. Funk of El Paso, TX; three sons, Gary E. Brandt of AR, Jerry (Julie) E. Brandt of Central City and Timothy A. Brandt of Hiawatha; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mabel (Sal) Postolka of Sioux Rapids, Ruth (Bert) Lyman of Belle Plaine and Lorraine (George) Votrobeck of Elberon; and one sister-in-law, Louise Lewis of Devine, TX.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents, Emil & Alberta Nebendahl; her husband, Ed Brandt; and a sister, Ruby Nebendahl-Overturf-Welch.
