Beverly (Sage) Howard

Beverly (Sage) Howard, a woman of profound faith, unwavering strength, and endless love, went home to be with her lord and savior on September 29, 2026. A beautiful and caring woman was called home after years of ongoing medical issues. She is finally at peace.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 4 – 7pm.

Born September 1, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Beverly was the daughter of the late Rose and John Sage. She grew up in Cedar Rapids and later blessed the communities of Monticello and Hiawatha, Iowa, with her warm, friendly presence.

For 56 beautiful years, Beverly walked through life hand-in-hand with her amazing, devoted husband, Dwight Howard. Their marriage was a testament to true love, partnership, and dedication. Together, they shared countless simple joys, including their favorite pastimes of taking long, peaceful car rides together just to enjoy each other’s company.

Beverly was greeted in Heaven by her parents, Rose and John Sage; her sister, Rosemary; and her brother, Butchy Sage.

Her beautiful legacy will live on through her surviving family: her beloved husband, Dwight Howard; her son, David Howard; and her daughter, Becky Howard. She is also survived by her sisters, Connie Gerdes and Sue (Jeff) Welp; many nieces and nephews, and a large circle of extended family and friends who love her dearly.
