Bobby Lee Becicka, 78, of 202 35th Street Dr., Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Bill Harnish. The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2008, at the funeral home.
Survivors include his daughters, Tracy (Allen) Clark of Marion, Iowa, Kellie (Gary) Schilling of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Angie (Jim) West of Harvard, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bobby was born December 27, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Walter and Mary (Farmer) Becicka. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Bobby had worked for the city of Cedar Rapids for 10 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and bowling, of which he bowled a 300 game. An avid lover of animals, Bobby also enjoyed collecting old truck and clocks.
