Bradley “Brad” James Huff, 76, of Marion, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, following a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, at his home surrounded by his family. In agreement with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Lafayette Cemetery in rural Alburnett, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Brad was born on August 27, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Clarence “Jake” and Marcella (Dvorsky) Huff. He was a 1967 graduate of Jefferson High School. On April 11, 1970, Brad was united in marriage to Rexanna Rae Stick. Sadly, she passed away on November 27, 1997. Brad later united in marriage to Audrey Schall on June 30, 2000, and they joined their families as one.
Brad's career as a semi-truck driver spanned over four decades. For 23 years, he was a valued member of the ABF Freight Systems team, until his retirement. He contributed 21 impressive years as Union Steward for Teamsters Local 238, proudly serving on the Executive Board for 19 of those years. After his retirement, Brad drove for Duggan Trucking, fulfilling his passion for the open road.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Brad had a zest for life that radiated through his love of travel and exploration. His fondness for adventure was evident from the time he spent at their summer home in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, and their winter home in Alamo, Texas. These places were where countless memories were created and shared, reflecting Brad's profound appreciation for family, friendships, and the beauty of the world.
Brad was also known for his remarkable involvements and achievements in stockcar racing, a passion he embraced as a young man from 1965. His talent on the track helped place him in the Hawkeye Downs Hall of Fame in August 2024, a testament of his dedication and skill. In reflecting, we remember a man who was not just a driver, a trailblazer during his time behind the wheel, a leader in his community, and a passionate seeker of adventure. Brad’s memory will forever be cherished by those who were blessed to know him, as he leaves a legacy of love, perseverance, and an eternal spirit of adventure.
Brad is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 25 years, Audrey Huff of Marion; children, John Huff (Sheila Oyler) of Center Point, Iowa, Jamie (Tricia) Huff of Toddville, Iowa, Debbie (Tim) Weber of Marion, and Michelle (Josh) Lawless of Tiffin, Iowa; son-in-law, Seth Browning of Overland Park, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Ian (Ella) Huff, Olivia Huff (Connor Petersen), Brandon (Kenzie) Huff, Jacob Huff, Phillip (Cortney) Weber, Evan Weber, Melina Schall, Chloe Browning, and Lauren Browning; one great-grandson, Callahan Huff; brother, Dean (Pam) Huff of Cedar Rapids; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends, especially Steve Gordon and Dan Beer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Rexanna Huff; and daughter, Caroline “Carrie” Browning.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the staff at both, Hall-Perrine Cancer Center at Mercy Hospital and St. Croix Hospice for all the love, care, and support they gave to Brad throughout his illness and final days.
