Bruce Allan Eichmeyer, 83, of Palo, Iowa, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at The Gardens of Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 9 – 11 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2026, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids with a Memorial Service to begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Bruce was born on July 7, 1943, the son of Loren and Frances (Junge) Eichmeyer. After high school graduation, Bruce joined the National Guard and served in Colorado Springs, Colorado from 1961-1965. On August 28, 1965, Bruce was united in marriage to Marlene Rieck in Luzerne, Iowa. He managed a Standard Service Station and then started his own business, Eichmeyer Thermo King Service, before retiring in 2018. Bruce was a true entrepreneur at heart and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He enjoyed flying airplanes, fishing, hunting, boating and working on tractors. Above everything else, he loved spending time with his family and close friends.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Eichmeyer; children, Lisa (Rich) Hart and Marc (Catherine) Eichmeyer; grandchildren, Reece Weaver, Alynn (Seth) Moeller, Tate Weaver, Cade Eichmeyer, Camryn (Britt) Hart and Dylan Hart; great-grandchildren, Ryla and Baylor and another great-granddaughter on the way; and siblings, Shirley Kleywegt, Barb (Dave) Hogan and Neil (Cathy) Eichmeyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
