CARMAN W. VAUPEL, 92, a resident of Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids, died there Saturday afternoon, October 11, 2003, following a long illness. She was born May 28, 1911, in Schleswig, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Emma Sell Werneburg. Carman was a great cook, she loved flowers and enjoyed crocheting and knitting for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Marion (Judith) Vaupel of Center Point and Conrad Vaupel of Rowley; two daughters, Nadine Heiserman of Cedar Rapids and Doris (Patrick) Bagby of Walker; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
