Carolyn Frimml Geater, 80, of Keystone, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at Keystone Care Center, Keystone, Iowa. Private services will be held at a later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family with arrangements.
Carolyn was born August 28, 1939, in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Dorathy (Jurgens) Heitman. She graduated from Van Horne High School in 1957. On October 3, 2018, Carolyn was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Geater in Vinton, Iowa. She loved children and worked as a childcare provider throughout her working life at various centers. Carolyn also enjoyed gardening. She will be missed by those who loved her.
Survivors include her siblings, John Heitman of rural Vinton, Jo (Steve) Schallau of Van Horne, Noreen (Mike) Folkerts of Juneau, Alaska and Tami (Jack) Fisher of Blairstown, Iowa; sister-in-law, Marcyne Heitman of Pensacola, Florida; step-son, Greg Geater of Castallian Springs, Tennessee and his family; nieces, Darcy and Jackie; nephews, Scott, Jason, Steve, Ron and Andy and all of their families.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Bob Geater; and brother, Don Heitman.
Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice in Carolyn’s name.
