Carolyn Milroy, 60, of Manchester died Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with ALS.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Manchester United Methodist Church by Rev. Mike Druhl. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Manchester and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Burial: Oakland Cemetery in Manchester
Carolyn was born December 7, 1950 in Princeton, Missouri. Following graduation from Manchester High School in 1969, she attended UNI receiving her degree in Elementary Education. Carolyn taught 5th grade at West Delaware Schools for 33 years, retiring in May 2008.
Carolyn was united in marriage on September 2, 1972 to Kenneth S. Milroy. To this union were born, Amy, Sarah and Samuel.
Carolyn was a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church. She always put her family and faith first. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, family vacations fishing in Canada, quilting, her flower gardens and photography.
Carolyn is survived by three children; Amy (Chris) Heims, Sarah (Jason) Kluesner both of Manchester, and Samuel (Kristin) Milroy of Traer; eight grandchildren, Isaiah Heims, Spencer Kluesner, Elijah Heims, Parker Kluesner, Aleah Heims, Lydia Heims, Mackenize Kluesner, and Aurora Milroy; one sister, Barb (Dave) Reth; in-laws, Sandra (Phil) Schatzle, Wiletta (Richard) Waterhouse, Ronald (Joyce) Milroy, Kathy Milroy, Karla (Kenneth) Sharp, Donna (Jay) Smith, and Alice Kluesner.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth on April 2, 2011; her parents, Cy and Lavina Claus; her in-laws, Wilbur and Mildred Milroy; and a brother-in-law, Loras Kluesner.
A Memorial Fund has been established in Carolyn’s name.
