Carrie Hyatt Gaskins Harsh, 52, of Palo, died Friday, May 6, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Rich Harsh; daughters, Amanda Gaskins of Palo, Catiline (Rodney) Gaskins and Shannon (Omar) Gaskins, both of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Charles, Layla, Kaydee and Lilith; and brother, Arthur Hyatt, Jr of New Orleans, Louisiana.
She now lies in peace with her parents.
Carrie was born November 14, 1963, the daughter of Arthur and Charlene (Green) Hyatt, Sr., in New Orleans, Louisiana. She had worked as a paralegal. She married Frank Gaskins on August 18, 1990. He died December 13, 2013. On April 3, 2016, Carrie married Richard Harsh.
Carrie enjoyed music, gardening, taking drives, eating out, reading, watching TV and traveling. She also enjoyed dogs and horses. Carrie was a “head strong” and happy person who liked to help others.
