Catherine Gertrude (Van Fossen) Jordan

Catherine G. Jordan, 94, a resident of Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died there Wednesday, October 24, 2012, after a long and good life. Graveside Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012, at the Center Point Cemetery, Center Point, by the Rev. Del Bear. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point.
Survivors include her children, Stanley (Beverly) Jordan of Clayton, North Carolina, Marguerite Bruce of Cedar Rapids and Ellen Jordan of Apache Junction, Arizona; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a niece, Kaye Hughes and family.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Jordan; brother, Albert Van Fossen; sister, Carol Lown; and infant sister, Doris Mae Van Fossen.
Born February 25, 1918, in Marion, Iowa, Catherine was the daughter of Merle and Ivy (Martin) Van Fossen. On January 19, 1941, she was united in marriage to Joseph Jordan in Green Gove Community Church in Toddville. She worked for Collins Radio for 15 years.
A memorial fund has been established in Catherine’s name.
