Cecil O. Price, of Coggon, was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 in his home after serving his Lord and Saviour for 96 years. Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2006 at Zion Presbyterian Church in Coggon by Pastor Sheri Andersen, and assisted by Pastor Leo Andersen and Rev. Kurt Walker. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Spring Grove Cemetery in rural Coggon.
Survivors include his son, Roy Jay (Jean) Price of Oroville, California; his daughter, Janice (Verle) Miller of Cedar Rapids; his son, James (Sharon) Price of Coggon; his son, Terrance (Sandra) Price of Marcell, Minnesota; his brother, Harlen Price of Independence; his sister, Helen Smith of Barnum, Minnesota; 7 grandchildren, Jeffery (Vickie) Price, Jenifer Alpern, Renata (Doug) Loveless, Brandon (Kelly) Miller, Morika (Bret) VanLoan, Annette (Gary) Trefz, and Justine (Larry) Henderson; 17 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
Cecil was born on August 2, 1909 in Spring Grove Township of Linn County, Iowa to Clarence O. and Mary A (Mote) Price. He married Mary Elizabeth Reed on October 16, 1930 in Cedar Rapids. She died September 18, 1996. Cecil started farming in 1932 and retired in the early 1970?s. He was a member of Silver Creek United Methodist Church in Robinson.
We are so blessed to have spent many special times with Dad/Grandpa. We will surely miss him.
