Charles "Chuck" Allen Sherman

Charles “Chuck” Allen Sherman, 82, of Walker, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home in Center Point, Iowa. A private family inurnment will be held at Walker Cemetery in Walker, Iowa.

Chuck was born on May 22, 1943, in Center Point, Iowa, to Ray and Mary (Kaufman) Sherman. He grew up working in the family business, Sherman Plumbing and Hardware, alongside his dad brother, Tom. He was united in marriage to Sally Ann Peyton on October 21, 1961, in Troy Mills, Iowa. In 1961, he was hired at Rockwell-Collins, where he worked until his retirement in 1998. Over the years, he also served the community through the City of Walker’s Streets Department and as the last “Town Marshal” for the city of Walker. For 45 years, he owned and operated a septic plumbing business, continuing his work until the passing of his wife. Together, he and his wife loved to travel and enjoyed spending time experiencing the nightlife.

He is survived by his children, Randy (Cindy) Sherman, and Rhonda (Brett) Freeman; grandchildren, Shawna (Chad) Meyer, Aaron (Amanda) Sherman, Heidi Sherman, Lindsey (Chris) Bierman, Ty (Allie) Sherman, Cody (Courtney) Sackett, Chase Sackett; great-grandchildren, Charli Ann, Jake, Lincoln, Brecken, Hank, Chloe, Chet, Cash, Cameron, Brogan, Daisy, Saylor, Kilian, Haley, Isiah; brother, Tom (Loretta) Sherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sally Sherman; daughter, Robyn Rae; sister, Judy Wall.
