Charles T. "Blue? Cochran, 95, of 3150 Sunburst Ave., Marion, died Monday, May 31, 2004, in his home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2004 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Mike Morgan. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004 at the funeral home.

Surviving are three nephews, Stephen (Dana) Stanford of Cedar Rapids, Thomas (Mary) Stanford of Marion, and George Dorson (Beverly) of Palisade, Colorado; two nieces, Roberta (Charles) Boyd of Milton, Iowa, and Raylene (Jerry) Pumphrey of Banning, California; three sisters-in-law, Eileen Cochran of Apache Junction, Arizona, Madaline Cochran of Banning, California, and Mary Cochran of Atkins, Iowa; and a brother-in-law, Donald Stanford of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie; his parents; three brothers, George Lester "Tom? Cochran, Lynn "Todd? Cochran, and Bates Cochran; two sisters, Selma Dorson and Mary Cochran, who died in infancy; and a nephew, Terry Cochran.

Blue was born the son of George and Alma (Linn) Cochran on February 15, 1909, in rural Cantril, Iowa . He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Blue was united in marriage to Frankie Hyde on October 11, 1941, in Memphis, Missouri. She died on July 14, 2002. Blue worked as a body mechanic for Allen Motor Company in Cedar Rapids for over twenty years.

Blue was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing. He also was a Hawkeye fan and a member of First United Methodist Church in Marion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Luke?s Hospice in Blue?s memory.
