Charles R. "Zisko? Ziskovsky, 90, of 1037 H Avenue NW, Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, March 11, 2007, at St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at the funeral home. Entombment: Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his sons, Gary Ziskovsky and Steven Ziskovsky, both of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Pauline.
Charles was born June 6, 1916, the son of Charles and Josephine (Kristof) Ziskovsky, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A veteran of World War II, he served with the 168th infantry-34th division. On June 24, 1950, he was united in marriage to Pauline Larimer. Charles worked for Lagomarcino-Grupe Co., Western Grocer, Appleby & Horn Tile Co. and retired from the Cedar Rapids Post Office in 1984, following 27 years of service. He was a member of Rapids Local 166 Postal Union and the D.A.V.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans in memory of Charles.
