Cindy Ann Melson, 46, of 254 Ripon Street SW, Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, December 15, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2005, at Church of God of Prophecy, 3211 Edgewood Rd. SW, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Jeff Bell. The family will greet friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2005, and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen; a daughter, Jamie at home; three stepchildren, Melissa, Stephanie (Stephen) and Tiffany Melson, all of Cedar Rapids; her parents: Darrell and Sharon Miller of Marion; three sisters, Deb (Alan) Knuth of Bondurant, Lori Miller of Jacksonville, Florida and Joelle (Craig) Logemann of Ankeny; a granddaughter, Kandice; her grandmother, Sarah Tribble of Marion; five nieces, Sarah and Emily Knuth, Bria and Jayde Logemann and Jordan Lange of Amarillo, Texas; a nephew, Dustin (Katie) Schulze of Norfolk, Virginia; her mother-in-law, Georgie Melson of Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law, Pam (Catherine) Schulze of Amarillo, Texas; and her dog, Abby.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, James Melson.
Cindy was born July 26, 1959, the daughter of Darrell and Sharon Baruth Miller, in Rock Island, Illinois. She graduated from Kennedy High School in 1978. On October 21, 2000, she was united in marriage to Stephen Melson in Cedar Rapids. Cindy loved going to movies, church activities and playing bingo.
