Connie Marie Rust

Connie Marie Rust, 83, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Private family services will be held. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.

Connie was born on February 18, 1943, in Kokomo, Indiana, the daughter of Charles and Norma (Burkdall) Huffman. She was a graduate of Kokomo High School. On May 16, 1975, Connie was united in marriage to Lester Gene Rust in Kokomo.

Connie worked in insurance and billing at Howard Community Hospital until her retirement. She later worked at Publix in Florida. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed crafting, making handmade cards, and creating jewelry. Connie was also an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed following the career of Caitlin Clark. Above all, Connie treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. Her warmth, creativity, and love for those around her will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Connie is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Gene Rust; son, Chris (Sarah) Fulk of Marion, and Stephanie (Rob) Clevenger of Alabama; five grandchildren, Meghan (Blaine) Cockrell, Jordin (Blake) Harris, Tessa Clevenger, Max (Jordan) Fulk, and Sam Fulk; four great-grandchildren, Tuff, Georgia, Gram, Forrest, and two on the way; and one brother, Mike Huffman of Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
