Daniel A. Schrock, 79, of 2628 12th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, August 5, 2004, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, following a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 9, 2004, at First Church of Nazarene, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Timothy W. Carter. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, August 8, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment: Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; his children, Dianne (Dean) Haynes of Olathe, Kansas City, David Schrock of Lewisville, Texas and Dean (Ruth) Schrock of Vancouver, Washington; three grandchildren, Julianna, Stephanie and Danielle Haynes; his brothers, Ervin Schrock of Wellman, Elmer Schrock of Wayland, Howard (Willeane) Schrock of Medina, Ohio, Jacob Schrock of Kalona; his sisters, Mabel McKittrick of Terra Haute, Indiana, Bessie Swartzendruber of Iowa City, Bertha Miller of Mode, Illinois, Lillie (C.C.) Thomas of Fayettesville, North Carolina, and Esther (Art) Tidy and Lydia (Dwight) Ann Kennel, both of Monmouth, Oregon; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Schrock of Shelbyville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Raymond, Edwin, John and Fred.
Daniel was born January 13, 1925, the son of Dan W. and Anna (Roth) Schrock in Shelbyville, Illinois. He attended Grace College in Omaha, Nebraska, received his THB at Bob Jones University, Greenville, South Carolina and his BD at Trinity Seminary in Chicago. On August 18, 1955, he married Jeanette Ingbrigtsen in Gladstone, Michigan. Daniel worked at Pennick Ford in the Starch Department for 18 years. He enjoyed gardening, planting trees and reading.
