Danny Alan Fields

Danny Alan Fields, 74, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at The University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa. The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.

Danny was born on February 6, 1952, to Carl and Lila (Jeffries) Fields. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington High School. In the 70’s and 80’s Danny loved playing bass and guitar. He worked for the University of Iowa in HVAC, retiring in 2025. He enjoyed painting, model cars and family gatherings. Danny was quite the storyteller, and he loved cheering for the Green Bay Packers. He will be missed.

Survivors include his son, Chad (Holli) Fields; grandchildren, Jacob (Maggie) Fields, Megan Fields, and Kaitlyn Fields; great-granddaughter, Emery Fields; sister, Catherine (Dennis) Boyer; several nieces and nephews; and wife, Tina Hildebrand-Fields.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry; and sister, Sue Munson.
