It is with profound sadness that the family of Dave Frasher announces his passing on November 19, 2025, at the age of 87. Dave passed away peacefully at The Gardens of Cedar Rapids. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Irene, who preceded him in death on January 16, 2024.

David Bernard Frasher, son of William and Lucy (Minnis) Frasher, was born on January 21, 1938 in Stone City, Iowa. His family moved to Marion when Dave was 5 years old.

He served in the US Navy from 1956 to 1960. In his early years, Dave worked at Hy-Vee in Marion and Rockwell Collins. He worked his later years at Apache Hose and Belting in Cedar Rapids and retired in 2001. Dave enjoyed, gardening, watching and feeding the birds, sitting outside in the sun, cracking walnuts and drinking beer! He loved spending time with his family. Dave was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who always did his best to be a good provider for his family.

Irene Marie Frasher, daughter of Leonard and Elsie (French) Pike, was born on October 11, 1942, near Coggon, Iowa. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. Irene was a loving woman who always made time for her family. Her kindness, warmth, and nurturing spirit touched all who knew her.

Dave and Irene were married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marion, Iowa on April 22, 1961, and shared a beautiful life together for over 60 years. Their love story was an inspiration to all, and they remained inseparable even in death.

They are survived by their loving children, Jeff (Rashelle) Frasher, Cedar Rapids, Tom (Gail) Frasher, Cedar Rapids, Sue (Steve) Kearney, McKinney, TX; cherished grandchildren, Erin (Matt) Wilde, Tim (Meredith) Frasher, Joe Frasher, Jacob Sherman; along with several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings; Edward, William Jr, James, Richard, Robert, John Frasher, Mary Little, Kathleen Crouse and Betty Lou Peterson.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings; Leo, Kenneth, Floyd, Rusty Pike, Charlotte Kitzmann and Charlotte's son, David Kitzmann, who was like a brother to Irene.

A joint visitation for Dave and Irene will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. The couple will be buried together at Oak Shade Cemetery, 789 2nd Ave, Marion.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the caregivers at Stoney Point Meadows and The Gardens of Cedar Rapids for the compassionate care that they gave to Dave and Irene. They would also like to thank St. Croix Hospice for Dave's most recent care in his final days.
