David E. Kaufman

David E. Kaufman, 61, of 3807 Blue Mound Dr. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center, following a short battle with cancer. Services: 3:30 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; his children, Mike (Barb) of Dysart, Brenda (Randy) Fowler of Missouri, Jason O?Connor and future daughter-in-law, Amanda Watson of Cedar Rapids, John (Tammy) O?Connor of Ely; seven grandchildren, Josh O?Connor, Megan Valentine, Justice Fowler, Madison Fowler, Mackenzie Fowler, Wesley Kaufman and Leah Kaufman; a sister, Karen (Don) Wohlers of Dyersville; two aunts, Gertrude (Charlie) Musel of Chelsea and Vivian Jesnia of Traer; and an uncle, Fred Jesnia of Toledo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milvoy and Emma; and his stepmother, Darlene Kaufman.
David was born February 24, 1945, the son of Milvoy and Emma (Jesnia) Kaufman, in Garrison, Iowa. In 1985, he married Judy Pulda in Las Vegas, Nevada. For 35 years, David worked for Quaker Oats Company. David was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed going to PRI for races and wintering in Arizona. David was a good man who loved life and his family, especially his children and grandchildren. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he will be deeply missed by all.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of David.
