Deb will be remembered as the ultimate caretaker—a strong, loving, and giving force of nature whose dedication and loyalty shaped the lives of everyone around her. Above all else, she loved her family deeply and fiercely, always placing them at the center of her world.
She had a rare and beautiful way of showing up for people. Deb was the kind of person who would go above and beyond for you, even if she had only met you once. Her selflessness knew no bounds, and she gave of herself freely and wholeheartedly. Yet her kindness was matched by her strength—she was never one to be pushed aside or overlooked. Deb stood her ground, unwavering and resilient, with a quiet power that earned the respect of all who knew her.
Her home was a reflection of her heart. With an open door and the belief that “the more the merrier,” Deb welcomed everyone in, always ready to care for a crowd as if it were second nature. She found her greatest joy surrounded by family, friends honorary children and grandchildren, creating a space where people felt safe, valued, and loved.
Deb pursued her education at DMAC and dedicated many years of her life as a recreational therapist at the VA in Marshalltown, where she made a lasting impact on those she served. She later moved to Cedar Rapids, where she became a beloved leader among the administrative cashiers at Toyota. Her work ethic, warmth, and spirit left an impression on colleagues and customers alike, and she was deeply cherished by all who had the privilege of working with her.
She is survived by her mother, Doris Armstrong; her brothers, Steve (Shelia) Armstrong, Jim (Karen) Armstrong; her devoted spouse, David Post; her children, Jen Armstrong, Adam (Jennifer) Post, and Brooke (Robert) Wyant; and her cherished grandchildren, Sage Gradford, Rozelyn Lundy, and Millie Wyant, with more on the way. Her legacy lives on through them, in the love she gave so freely and the values she instilled so deeply.
Deb was preceded in death by her father, Richard Armstrong; her aunts, Kathrine Grier, Lois Thompson, and Carolyn DePauw; her uncles, Charles Cram and Jim Cram.
To know Deb was to know unwavering love, strength, and generosity. Her presence filled every room, her laughter brought comfort, and her care changed lives. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and resilience that will continue to inspire all who were lucky enough to know her.
