Delores J. McKenzie

Delores J. McKenzie, 88, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, September 26, 2026. Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. on October 16, 2026, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. on October 16, 2026, at the funeral home. Inurnment: Springfield Cemetery, Delta, Iowa.

Delores was born June 16, 1938, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of George and Leatha Rada. She graduated from Muscatine High School. On January 12, 1957, Delores married Lowell E. McKenzie. Throughout her life, Delores balanced raising her family with working a variety of jobs. After retiring in 2002, she found great fulfillment in giving back to her community through volunteer work. Delores was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society.

Delores enjoyed taking bus trips, flowers, gardening, working on jigsaw puzzles, and trying new recipes. Above all, Delores treasured the time she spent with her family.

Survivors include her children, Pamela (Dallas) Ulfers, Mark (Nancy) McKenzie, and Margo (Jeffrey) Butler; her grandchildren, Ryan, Casey, Sarah, Stephanie, Steven, Travis, Adam, Lucas, and Daphne; her great-grandchildren; her twin brother, Larry (Cathy) Rada; and her son-in-law, Jerry Hofer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell McKenzie; her parents; her daughter, Danette Hofer; her sisters, Ruth and Mary; and her brothers, Bob, Walter, Leonard, and Lyle.
