Denise Annette Lenz

Denise Annette (Biley) Lenz, 63, of Sutliff, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026, with her devoted husband Doug Lenz by her side at St. Luke’s Hospice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Denise was born April 6, 1963, the daughter of Larry and Karen (Broxey) Biley and grew up in Ely, Iowa. She was previously married to Al Vincent, and together they welcomed their beloved son, Trent Vincent of Cedar Rapids. Trent was one of the greatest joys of her life and she was proud to call him her son – she always spoke highly of him, and they went on many adventures together. Throughout her life she held many jobs, but her favorite was farming and taking care of her animals.

Denise had a deep passion for all animals (especially her rescue dogs and donkeys). She loved to go dancing with friends while listening to live music, create cherished memories with friends (especially Randy) at her cabin and spend time on the Cedar River kayaking and boating – she called herself a true River Rat. Denise also loved to go snowmobiling, camping, have bonfires, and spend time with family. Her warm heart, contagious personality and vibrant spirit made her the kind of person whose presence could light up any room. She will be remembered for her laughter and the love she freely gave to those around her.

She is survived by her father, Larry Biley; husband, Doug Lenz; son, Trent Vincent (Alex Kline); sister, Chris (Steve) Troendle and best friend Randy Heick. She is proceeded in death by her mother, Karen (Broxey) Biley.

Following Denise’s wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa for research. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids assisted the family. There will be no service at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and everyone is invited to attend. Her family encourages all who knew and loved her to remember her by sharing stories, laughter, and the joy she brought into their lives.
