Dennis Lee Candler

Dennis Lee Candler, 69, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 7, 2026. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service assisted the family. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Dennis was born January 21, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of John Leonard Candler and Betty Jane Manahl. He graduated from Washington High School in the Class of 1975. Dennis was a proud fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Cubs, and NASCAR. He was self-taught in computer programming and very tech-savvy. While Dennis was independent, he also highly valued spending time with his family and was considered a provider, giver, and great storyteller.

Dennis is survived by his sons, Josh (Sarah) Candler and Justin (Emily) Candler; his sister, Barb (Rick) Stellmach; his brother, David (Dawn) Candler; nephews, Mike and John; his nieces, Sierra and Erin; his grandchildren, Jaydyn, Sophia, Gannon, and Haven; and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty.
