DeWayne F. “Pinky” Burlingham, 75, of Arma, Kansas, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, October 20, 2007 at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO of lung disease. At his request, there were no services or visitation.
Pinky is survived by a son, DeWayne F. (Jenifer) Burlingham, Jr. of Berry Creek, CA; sisters, June Wise of Cedar Rapids and Edith Barnes of Polk City; grandchildren, DeWayne and Cody Burlingham, both of Arma, KS; an ex-daughter-in-law, Kimberly Burlingham of Arma; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Ellsworth, Adrian and Ed Burlingham and Ted and Sherman McNabb; and a sister, Betty Blado.
Pinky was born April 27, 1932 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Charles C. and Nina B. (Linn) Burlingham. He worked as a mechanic for most of his life in California, and moved to Arma, Kansas after his retirement in 2006. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
