Donald Steven Robertson, 63, of Urbana and formerly Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, October 28, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice, Hiawatha. Services: 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca (Starr) Robertson of Urbana; mother, Dorothy Robertson; children, Naomi (Shawn) Lurkens, Saraina (Cody) Behrens and Nathan Carson all of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Judy (Floyd) Sauter of Urbana, Jon (Gwynne) Robertson of Alburnett, Greg (Janet) Robertson of Cedar Rapids, Marty (Diana) Robertson of Vinton and Paul (Kim) Robertson of San Antonio, TX; a sister-in-law, Kathryn (John) Bailey of Marion; brother-in-law, Mike (Linda) Starr of Cedar Rapids; lifelong friend, Clyde (Sue) Melvin of Cedar Rapids; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandson; one nephew; three nieces; and a mother-in-law.
Donald was born on July 21, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, son of Donald and Dorothy (Templer) Robertson. Donald and Rebecca had built a life of memories, friendships and families over the past 20 years. He worked for Cedar Rapids Conveying for 14 years and at Norand/Intermec for 30 years.
A memorial fund has been established.
