Donald G. Share, Sr., 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids by Rev. Barb Furman. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life: Teamster Hall, 5000 J Street SW, starting at 4:00 p.m.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Shirley; three sons, Donald (Sheryl) Jr. of Ames, Ronald (Leah) of Cedar Rapids and Robert of Cedar Rapids; a grandson, Matthew Alexander (Jennifer Grow) of Norfolk, Virginia; his mother, Opal Roller of Marengo; his mother-in-law, Ruth Beck of Belle Plaine; and his cat, Smoke.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father-in-law, Dale Beck.
Donald was born January 22, 1938. He was raised by Charles “Red” and Beulah Fowler. On March 5, 1960, he married Shirley Beck in Ladora. Don & Shirley owned and operated the Dairy Queen at Wilson & Bowling for 18 years. He was also a body man and car dealer.
Donald was a car enthusiast, he loved street rods. He was a good caring man and provider who was generous to everyone.
