Donald Frederick Traver

Donald F. Traver, Sr., 93, of Ryan, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester following a short illness.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2007 at the Manchester United Methodist Church by Rev. Jill Mack. Family will greet friends from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester and one hour before services Monday at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Donald was born December 18, 1913 in Ryan, the son of Fred and Hattie (Hillier) Traver. He graduated from Manchester High School in 1931. On November 15, 1937 Donald was united in marriage to Bertha M. Baxter at the Methodist Church in Manchester. Donald was born, raised and lived on the family farm near Ryan.
Donald was a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church, Farm Bureau, Grange and Prairie Corner Club. He enjoyed fishing, pitching horse shoes and playing cards. In his younger years, he liked to hunt, bowl and play softball.
Donald is survived by his wife, Bertha Traver of Ryan; four children, Donald (Sharon) Traver, Jr. of Manchester, Beverly (Gene) Riniker of California, David (Sharlene) Traver of Ryan and Sheryl (Frank) DeHaro of California; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Millie Traver of California and Ada Traver of Manchester.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Hattie Traver; brothers, Howard and Robert Traver; and sisters, Blanche Jones, Dorothy Culbertson, Bertha Sheppard, Mildred Retz and Myrtle Wilkemeyer.
