Dorothy O. Kuhn, 77, of Urbana, died Monday, August 27, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Burial: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Urbana.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn (Stephen) Prior of Wildomar, California; a son, William “Bill” (Dawn) Kuhn of Urbana; five grandchildren, Travis Prior, Timothy Prior, Sandra Sims, Shalean Kuhn and James Kuhn; a great-grandson, William Janzen; a brother, Robert (Shirley) Berry of Chico, California; a sister, Ruth (Tom) Gemkow of Fontana, California; and a sister-in-law, Minerva Berry of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; six brothers, Roy Berry, Charles David Berry, Ellis Berry, Fred Berry, Dutch Berry and Daniel Berry, a sister, Ruby Hoffner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was born January 4, 1930 the daughter of Charles and Olga (Parker) Berry, in Coggon, Iowa. On November 14, 1950, she was united in marriage to Ralph William Kuhn. He died March 14, 1999. For 37 years, she assisted her husband with Kuhn Oil Company and also worked at Rockwell Collins for 10 years. Dorothy enjoyed dancing, gardening and being outdoors, especially camping. She loved to be with her canine companion, Molly and her best friend, Karen Goodell.
Dorothy was a member of the American Legion Auxilliary, American Red Cross volunteer, and the Red Hat Society.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Dorothy.
