Dorothy Jeanne Schwartz

Dorothy Jeanne Schwartz, 84, of 2445 A Avenue, died suddenly Friday, April 28, 2006, in Linn Manor Care Center following a chronic illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2006, at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in Marion by the Rev. Thomas Hedtke. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Graveside Services: 2:30 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Buena Vista.
Survivors include her husband John "Jack?; two sons, Dr. Craig Schwartz and wife LeeAnn of Elm Grove, Louisiana and Dr. Kent Schwartz and wife Dr. Audrey Schwartz of Story City; two brothers, Carlyle Meints and wife Rita and Don Meints and wife Helen; and a sister, Marge Henderson and husband Jim.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Michelle Lancaster and husband Salvador of LaJolla, California, Shawn and wife Laure of Maplewood, Minnesota, Trevor, Regan, Taylor, Andrea and Angela; and a great-granddaughter, René.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Bob, John and David Meints.
Dorothy was born the daughter of Carl and Grace (Alexander) Meints on August 26, 1921, in Clinton County. On May 1, 1945, in San Diego, California she was united in marriage to John "Jack? H. Schwartz. She received a teacher?s certificate from UNI. Dorothy served in the Navy Waves during World War II.
A memorial fund has been established in Dorothy?s memory.
